Focus on Infrastructure Planning and Sustainability

Our increasing population and business growth is an indicator of a healthy and thriving city. With that growth, I am committed to communicate with our school district, planning and zoning board, and community to develop strategies to meet the needs of today without compromising the quality of life for future generations.  I will continue to remain focused on the following capital investment:

During my tenure, the City of Hoover achieved the following:

  1. Repaving roads and installations of sidewalks for walkability
  2. Maintaining existing city facilities
  3. Complete construction by 2027 of the new Exit 9 off Interstate I-459 to reduce traffic congestion
  4. Stormwater Pipeline Replacement Program.

Hoover, like many other cities nationwide, face challenges of aging stormwater infrastructure. Leveraging my expertise as an engineer, I have advocated for and supported funding for over $5 million in funding for stormwater pipeline projects, which have yielded reduced flooding, better water quality, and enhanced protection against erosion. Currently, I have partnered with the mayor's office to play an active role in devising a well-defined plan to finance and replace the outdated piping system.
