Hoover's commitment to public safety has earned national recognition as one of safest cities in Alabama. Studies’ show that when crime is low and the community feels safe, it encourages economic growth and housing market healthiest. During my tenure, the City of Hoover achieved the following awards and recognitions:

1. Top 10 ranking as one of the best places to live in the Southeast.
2. Ranked #1 Safest School System in Alabama 
3. Ranked #5 Safest School District in the United States of America
4. Hoover Police Department earned national accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement (CALEA)
5. Two new fire stations were built/in construction in effort to respond to more than 14,000 calls annually. 

As a member of the City Council and the Chair of Hoover’s Public Safety Committee, I will continue to build on this success with my unwavering support for our police and fire department.
