Park and Recreational, & Performing Art Opportunities

Parks and recreation, cultural, and arts facilities provide places for healthy accessibility by citizens of all ages, abilities, and special needs.  Studies’ show by having increase facilities and programs there is a decrease in health issues in the community.  In addition, investing into performing arts facilities provides social opportunities such as plays, musical performances, etc. for citizens and people visiting the City of Hoover. These parks and facilities help to improve the city's economy to increase funding for our schools and city functions. During my tenure, the City of Hoover achieved the following:

  1. Held citywide town hall meetings to obtain public feedback for Parks, Trails, and Public Spaces Plans.
  2. Approved funding to connect the city’s 32-parks through a new Greenway and Blueway trail system.
  3. Provided  funding to design and prepare for construction of a 1,000-seat Performance Art Center.
  4. Built the largest and most all inclusive playground in the State of Alabama that supports all families including those with mobility issues and disabilities.

Hoover City Council elections will take place on
